Diane,
Am I to understand that you are refusing to provide me with the
financial information of the association? You are not in a position to do
that. Arizona law trumps your position as president and you cannot
unilaterally make a decision to ignore the law and deny me access to what I as
a member of this association and a duly elected member of this board of
directors am entitled to, as any member of the board would be entitled
to. You cannot pick and choose what information you are going to make
available based on who you like or don’t like.
By law you are required to provide any member who requests it, an
opportunity to review or make copies of the records of the association.
A.R.S. allows five business days which by my calculations is June 2 since I
made the written request on May 23 and verbally at the board meeting of May 20.
So I will look forward to hearing from you as to when and where you would like
to meet to go over the books and/or make copies.
FYI I have attached another copy of my request and the statute that
outlines the rights of association members as it relates to accessing
information. Please consider this my second request for the CNA’s
financial records. As a new member of the board, I am not going to be
comfortable going into the June general meeting to discuss this and other
financial information with the membership without a clear understanding of the
financial health of the association, which is why I have made these requests.

As you’re aware, Patricia is closing out our year-end and we don’t have
accurate figures for year-end as of yet. When those figures become
available, we will, of course, be posting them.

non-profit 990s are also published on guidestar.org. I believe it’s
simply necessary to input the name of the non-profit and their financial
information is there.
As
far as the remainder of your request, that information is not available and
will not be made available. Patricia has indicated that she is quitting
and we will, once again, be without a treasurer.
Before
she leaves, she will be updating the Dispatch receivables and once we have
accurate figures, we will call a special meeting of the board, along with the
Dispatch people, to discuss the past-due receivables and formulate a course of action.
